Record year for Spanish Ports in 2022 thanks to dry bulk ?

During the period January-September 2022, Spanish ports registered a global traffic of 425.37 Mt, increasing by 5% compared to 2021 at the same period. Just 9 port authorities (over 28) saw their traffic declining with regards to 2021 and more than 50% of them overpassed 2019 pre-pandemia traffic. This good result for the nine first months is mainly driven by dry bulk traffics. This segment of traffic rose by 11% up to 69.48Mt. Coal movements overpassed 13.3Mt (+64%) while cereals and flours reached 10.7Mt (+31.5%). If this positive trend continues during Q4-2022, Spanish ports could end the year with a record traffic.
